Background

The Department of Agricultural Machinery and Technologies Engineering (DAMTE) in Akdeniz University has been founded in 1983. The main aim of the DAMTE' foundation has been described as making contribution and improve mechanisation level in agricultural production activities locally and globally.

The active teaching activity in graduate level in DAMTE has started in education term of 1996-1997. Now, DAMTE is leading both of graduate and postgraduate level scholarly / research activities with its powerful members of academic staff.

Currently, total of 14 members of academic staff ( Five of Professors, two of Assoc. Prof., two of Asst. Prof. and five of Research Asst. ) have been positioned in the DAMTE.

The main interest field in DAMTE can be divided into two parts: Agricultural Engineering and Energy in Agriculture.

Considering these scientific branches, the research and scholarly activities in the DAMTE have been carrying out in a good manner of productive and world class competitive approach since its foundation.

The DAMTE provides know-how supports, field / machinery tests and consultancy works for local agricultural enterprises / growers and machinery manufacturers In addition to world class scientific research activities.

It is honour of DAMTE to be one of the leading departments at the Akdeniz University.

The base of the mission of DAMTE is to integrate life and engineering for enhancement of complex living systems.

The DAMTE focus on to provide cutting-edge research and innovative technology for the benefit of society and agricultural production/machinery industry locally and globally; to deliver the highest quality engineering graduates with the base subjects of agricultural engineering and Energy in agriculture.

The DAMTE define its vision as to be recognized as a leader in agricultural engineering education, research and the application of knowledge to benefit society locally and globally.
